About Me
Hello, and welcome. I'm Sruthi Medicherla, and I'm a senior at Lambert High School. I aspire to be an OB/GYN, and I'll be entering college soon to begin my post-secondary education to pursue my chosen career field.
I love learning about science, more specifically biology. I also love to learn about history and, when I have free time, I love to learn about foreign languages and cultures.
I also like to help and teach children, so I spent a few weeks last summer tutoring underprivileged elementary school level children in reading, writing and math at a non-profit organization called Next Generation Focus. I also volunteered last summer at Northside Forsyth Hospital.
Throughout my senior year, I have been interning at Gwinnett Pulmonary Group, which is a healthcare facility that specializes in pulmonary and sleep medicine with hospitals in Duluth and Lawrenceville.
I have greatly enjoyed working there, as I was able to get real work experience, I had an opportunity to understand how a healthcare organization functions and I was able to view some very interesting medical procedures called bronchoscopies.
Not only was I able to view these procedures, but I was able to contribute to GPG's daily tasks by entering patient medical histories, tracking prescriptions, and counting pills in the dispensary area. I also learned a lot about dangerous respiratory diseases like Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
